Enter the hungry traveler....

I cracked up tonight watching my kids play outside....I was making dinner and I went over to the door to look cause I just couldn't see enough through the window....so I went to the door just in time to see the following, play out: Delaney: "OK Bugga, so do that".....Delaney sat at our new "patio cafe" and put her head down on the counter and pretended to sleep. Donovan put a bucket over his arm and started from the other side of the deck. He walked over to the cafe and said, "Aw man, I'm so hungry" Then he put his bucket on a chair, looked at Delaney and said, "What's this? A sleeping girl and there's no food! But I'm so hungry. Now I'm mad. I'm taking your beautiful picture with me then. Man, I'm mad" Then he shoved the picture that Delaney had just drawn ten minutes ago, into his bucket and stomped away saying, "I'm hungry and I'm mad!" Then he stomped around the side of the deck and he tossed the bucket into the bushes. As if on cue, Delaney popped her head up, stretched her arms out and says, "That was a great nap, oh my, where's my beautiful picture!" She then ran around the deck really fast, then ran to the side, where Donovan was still grumbling and stomping and said, "Oh my, have you seen my beautiful picture?" Donovan roared out, "Its in the bushes cause you were sleeping and I'm hungry" To which Delaney said, "Oh no sir, I just stopped to rest for a minute. Would you like me to make you some food?" He smiled really big and said, "yeah" (and if you know Donovan, you can hear that happy 'yeah' LOL) So they came back up to the patio and she made him a pretend burger.... I wish, if there ever was a moment to capture on film, that it had been that one....So well played my children, so well played!!!

Mi Casa Es Su Casa....

I took the girls to meet my friend Leslie for lunch, with her kids and while we were there, they had those stupid crane machines where you never ever win a toy LOL Anyway, I gave Delaney a dollar to play, so Leslie gave hers a dollar....and then I coughed up another, and so did she....and when Delaney came for round three, I said, "I'm out, I have no more money".....So she looked at Leslie and said, "Well, can I have some of her money?" LMAO!

Lobster Speak

We went to Red Lobster for dinner..cause, well, Ben and I LOVE Cheddar Bay biscuits and the kids are obsessed with the lobsters. They always take them out and let the kids look at them up close and touch them. Super fun stuff for a 3 and 5 year old. So, while waiting for our food, Donovan leans over and tells me that one of the lobster got him...I said, "They got you! How horrible"....He said, "yeah, the lobster just kept getting me, and pinchin' me"....So I said, "Oh, no, Did you tell him to stop?"....He looked and said, "No...Mom, lobsters don't have ears, they don't speak"....Here I'm thinking I'm playing along, but I got schooled by my 3yo....

Happy Day

In preparation for Kindergarten interviews, We've been quizzing Delaney on the basics...address, phone number, the month, her birthday, colors, counting...the normal things they ask....so I was told.....well, Donovan, while listening, told me his birthday is in April, I said, "No its March", He smiled and shook his head, and said "noooo, I think its April"...."Fine", I said, "What day is it on then", He smiled and said, "The happy day"....
