Hoopin Inside

This is how smart and funny Donovan can be....I told him he couldn't go outside....but he wanted to play basketball and the hoop was outside....so, he opened the door, pulled the hoop over, so it was just outside the door and then stood in the kitchen and shot....I felt a breeze, went in and said "what are you doing?" He said, "I'm hoopin but I'm not outside!" Ben claims he outsmarted me and should be allowed to play....He definitely wins for ingenuity...

Shamrocks!

I love my Donovan stories....he just brought me down a green Irish shirt and asked that I put it on him "cause daddy likes it"....and I did....then he patted his chest and said, "Daddy loves flower shirts"....LOL Sorry Bud! Those are Shamrocks! Ben said now that bball is over, he resumes being a husband and dad today....and not a minute too soon! LMAO!! Donovan so desperately needs a man around! LOL

Mocking

I love my Delaney....Ben's been making fun of me non stop and he just said, 'who am I Delaney?" and made a funny voice and repeated back what I just said....She said, "um, you're daddy" Small insignificant win for me! haha

Princess Love

I totally just remembered the sweetest story last night....Made my Valentine's Day....Donovan curled up in bed with me, and for some reason was talking about princesses, probably, cause that's all that Delaney ever talks about, so he said he liked Snow White and Cinderella....so I said who's your favorite? And my little prince, thought about it and then pointed to me and said, "Um.....I think.....YOU!" And then he stood up, pointed to the wedding picture in our bedroom and said, "you have a pretty dress on and princess gloves" Best conversation with him to date!

Love is a backrub

So this morning we were sitting on the couch, just Donovan and I, watching Mickey Mouse, the girls were still in bed, so I reached over and rubbed his back for a second, just to connect a little and I did.....He turned and looked at me and said with a big smile, "I like you too mommy" Message received!

Personal responsibilty

OMG! Tenley was sitting and looking a book and she ripped the page right out....so I yelled, "No, no we don't rip the pages".....Delaney walked over, looked at me and said, "Well, its your fault, you should've never let her have it" OMG!

Beauty

I just can't get over how big and beautiful Delaney has become and sometimes I stare at her. Its just amazing. She's so tall and thin now, all the baby fat is long gone and she's suddenly a little girl. Crazy! So today I was staring at her and she caught me. She blushed a little and said, "What?" So I asked, "How did you get to be so beautiful? You're so tall and thin and smart and beautiful. How did you do that?" She blushed again and said, "I don't know" So I prodded. "Seriously, what do you do that makes you so lovely? How do I get to be as beautiful as you?" And she shrugged her shoulders and said, "Maybe try broccoli? Carrots too. They make you grow tall. I think that's how."

I love to talk to her. Her answers are always sweet and innocently brilliant!

We were driving this morning and Delaney announced, "Hey Mom, I saw on TV kid songs, but not like Donovan's 'Happy and You Know It' kid songs, but like this song on the radio now, but with kids"

Volleyball anyone?

I asked Delaney what she wants to be when she grows up and she said a volleyball player. I said, "Do you even know what volleyball is?". She said, "I see them at basketball all the time and they always get cupcakes....always". Yep, my child "will work for food". lol

Best conversation

Me: "Delaney, why don't you close your eyes and try to nap?" D: "But I don't nap on Thursdays....Today's Thursday right?" Me: "No. Thursday is a daycare day and you do nap then." D: What's today?" Me: "Saturday." D: " oh that's it. I meant to say Saturdays I don't nap". LMAO

The Food Chain

I gave Donovan a banana and he said, "Monkeys eat bananas" I said, They sure do....."And Alligators eat monkeys!" Not exactly what I expected...."And Dinosaurs eat Alligators! Roar!".....and so sums up the food chain in two year old land...

Is it 6 yet?

This is why I laugh.....just told the kids its almost 9 and its time for bed....Delaney said, "I think I'll wait to eight o'firty to go to bed"....I laughed....she said, "How much longer away is eight o'firty?" I said it passed...you should've been in bed for almost a half an hour....So she thought and said, "I think I'll go to bed at 6 then...Is that better?" LOL
